Privacy Policy

Last updated 7 April 2026

Calmir is built on a single principle: your readings are yours. This document describes — in plain language — exactly what the app does and does not do with your data.

The short version

Calmir is a fully on-device application. We do not operate any server. We do not collect, transmit, store, or share any personally identifiable information, sensor data, cognitive readings, breathing-session activity, or analytics. There is no third-party SDK embedded in the app for tracking or attribution.

What Calmir reads from your device

With your explicit permission, Calmir accesses the following signals on the device for the sole purpose of computing your on-screen Chaos Score:

  • Motion sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope) via Apple’s CoreMotion framework. Used at ~50 Hz to estimate how agitated your physical handling has become. Raw samples are kept in a 1-second sliding buffer in RAM and never written to disk.
  • Screen Time activity thresholds via Apple’s DeviceActivity / FamilyControls framework. Calmir requests aggregate counters (e.g. “total foreground time today”) but does not request, see, or store the identities of which apps or websites you used.

All of this information is processed locally on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded.

What Calmir stores

Calmir persists a small amount of information in your device’s local UserDefaults and a shared App Group container so the main app and the DeviceActivity extension can talk to each other:

  • Whether you’ve completed onboarding (boolean).
  • Your selected Intention (focus, calm, or sleep).
  • Daily aggregate counters from DeviceActivity (e.g. minutes of foreground use, pickup count). These are scalar numbers, not activity logs.

These values never leave your device. Uninstalling Calmir removes all of them.

Subscriptions and payments

Calmir Plus is sold as an in-app subscription processed entirely by Apple StoreKit. Calmir never sees your name, Apple ID, payment method, or transaction details — those are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. Calmir only receives a verified entitlement flag indicating whether your Plus subscription is currently active.

Diagnostics

Calmir contains no analytics, no crash-reporting SDK, no remote logging. If you have enabled Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Analytics & Improvements ▸ Share With App Developers at the iOS level, Apple may forward anonymized crash reports to us through their own infrastructure. You can disable this at any time from the Settings app.

Children

Calmir is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from them.

Third parties

We do not share data with third parties because we do not collect any data in the first place. The only external services Calmir interacts with are Apple’s own platform APIs (StoreKit, DeviceActivity, FamilyControls) and Apple’s App Store delivery system itself.

Changes to this policy

If we ever materially change this policy — for example by adding any kind of remote service — we will publish the new version here and surface a notice inside the app on your next launch.
